Since I have had accurate Marlins and Winchesters in .357 mag and 30/30 I assumed the problem with the .44s was due to the slow twist, all of them were 1-38". Many times the last cartridge will not eject but simply hang up in the receiver. I used it for CAS for three years. After trying various brands of .357, I bought several boxes of Herters from Cabela. It would not cycle any .357 rounds at all. The finish on the metal parts is Cerakote and the furniture is wooden. The 357’s range of useful bullet weights is 90 to 200 grains; and loaded to about 1500 fps, that 200 penetrates like there’s no tomorrow. I didn't try any 38s because I do not run 38s in any of my 357 rifles or handguns, as they gunk up the chambers & the ballistics out of a long barrel aren;t even close to 357. It's very finicky about .357 rounds that it will feed, and the front sight dovetail was cut at a canted angle, not straight across the barrel. I'll never purchase another firearm through Davidsons...
